Stevens Farm

Stevens Farm
@Rick Lang/Troy Engle

Chorus
Hey momma what’d you say
We’re out of milk, out of eggs
Come on daddy get the car
Let’s go down to Stevens Farm on
Down to Stevens farm

V1
Before the rooster starts to crown the Stevens boys are on the go
Cows need milkin’ don’t you know, come rain or shine
Moms in the kitchen frying eggs, bacon and them griddle cakes
They’ll come in and fill their plates down in Stevens farm

V2
When summer comes they’ll plant some corn, make sure the rows are
straight and long
Sell it down there in the barn that sets along the road
Folks too and talk a while, they always leave with a smile
Fresh produce by the mile down on Stevens farm

Chorus

V3
Old man Stevens works real hard, to make ends meet down in the farm
Does his best to carry on, just like the ones before him
He’s always there to lend a hand, any time you call on him
Nicest folks in all the land live down on Stevens farm

Chorus

Last verse
I drive by from time to time, it brings a tear to my eye
I still go back there in my mind…. down to Stevens farm
