Young Country Preacher

Young Country Preacher
Rick Lang/Daryl Mosley

V1
It was on a Sunday morning I went out for a walk
Out along way I passed by a house of God
Turned to look around that's when I first saw
That young country preacher

V2
The congregation gathered, he shook every hand
Church bell was ringing its welcome through the land
Then a voice said step inside and take a seat my friend
It was that young country preacher

Chorus
That young country preacher he spoke the word of God
In a voice so humble that touched every heart
He gathered all the lost sheep back into the flock
That young country preacher

V3
He preached about the leper and the woman at the well
He preached of Paul and Silas singing in the prison cell
Give your heart to Jesus and save your souls from hell
Said that young country preacher

V4
That young country preacher he taught us how to pray
Sing all the old hymns in the old time way
Live your life for Jesus each and every day
That young country preacher
