Christmas Lullaby
Lyrics
Christmas Lullaby
@Rick Lang/Ted DeMille
V1
It was Christmas Eve when he first heard that song
Momma taught him how to sing along
She sang about the wise men and that bright star in the sky
That's how he learned the Christmas Lullaby
V2
The young boy hung on each and every word
That told the story of the Saviors birth
The gift his mother gave to him, made his spirits bright
A song she called The Christmas Lullaby
Chorus
While shepherds on the hillside tended sheep
Mary gently rocked the Babe to sleep
Hark the Herald angels in the sky
Sang the King a Christmas lullaby
V3
Now a man, a family of his own
It was time to pass that song along
His daughter sitting in his lap, let out a gentle sigh
As he sang to her The Christmas Lullaby
V4
Not every present there that Christmas Eve
Was wrapped in pretty paper ‘neath the tree
Sacred words and music, sent down from on high
The song they called The Christmas lullaby
Chorus
Tag
That song his momma sang to him, he handed down tonight
A gift of love, The Christmas Lullaby
