Fighting off the winter chill 

Walk to the church on up the hill

Big bright star shining down

Lights the path on the snowy ground

Open the door, take a seat

Like every year on Christmas Eve

Hear the story word by word

All about the Saviors Birth

I can't help but wonder what it was like

To be there with the others that night

And I believe in the Christmas star

I was not in the fields that night

As shepherds quaked at the sight

When angels hovered in the air

To greet their King, no I wasn't there

I did not see those wise men come

Bearing gifts for the Holy One

They put their faith in that star so bright

But I wasn't there on that blessed night
