Jesus walked out in the night

Up to the garden Gethsemane

His disciples close behind

Up to the garden Gethsemane

He choose Peter, James, and John

There in the garden Gethsemane

To keep watch until the dawn

There in the garden Gethsemane

Chorus 1: Gethsemane, Gethsemane

He prayed in the garden Gethsemane

Gethsemane, Gethsemane,

Betrayed in the garden Gethsemane

He cried Father must I drink this cup

There in the garden Gethsemane

And not My will but Thine be done

There in garden Gethsemane

An angel appeared and strengthened Him

There in the garden Gethsemane

As in anguish He pleaded unto Heaven

There in the garden Gethsemane

Chorus 2: Gethsemane, Gethsemane

My Lord sweat blood Gethsemane

Gethsemane, Gethsemane

He was pressed like olives in Gethsemane

Found His followers fast asleep

There in the garden Gethsemane

Spirits willing, but the flesh was weak

There in the garden Gethsemane

Wake up! Wake up! Look the Son Of Man

In the garden Gethsemane

Is given into sinners hands

In the garden Gethsemane

Chorus 1: Gethsemane, Gethsemane

He prayed in the garden Gethsemane

Gethsemane, Gethsemane,

Betrayed in the garden Gethsemane

Bridge: Ooooo

Judas came with lying lips

Greeted Jesus with a kiss

My Lord said, “Friend, do what you will.”

As the soldiers marched right up that hill

Peter drew his sword in fear

Cut off the high priest’s servants ear

Jesus cried, “No more of this.”

Healed that ear and He didn't resist

When His hands were bound and they led Him away

To Annas, Caiaphas, and Pilate that day

To be mocked, and scourged and crucified

On that Roman cross for you and I

Chorus 1: Gethsemane, Gethsemane

He prayed in the garden Gethsemane

Gethsemane, Gethsemane,

Betrayed in the garden Gethsemane

Chorus 3: Gethsemane, Gethsemane

Surrendered to His destiny

Gethsemane, Gethsemane

To Calvary from Gethsemane
