Homegrown

Writer: Rick Lang

Lyrics

Home Grown

@Lynna & Jim Woolsey/Rick Lang

V1

The sinking  sun goes down on a hot summer day

As grandma and grandpa put the garden tools away

They started in the spring to work this rocky ground

To harvest all the crops before winter comes around

Chorus

Home grown with sweat and calloused hands

Home grown on unforgiving land

Hard work to feed the body, prayer to feed the soul

All we’ve ever had, all we ever known is home grown

V2

Beneath this family farm the roots run deep

Momma and daddy handed down this way of life to me

Sowing seeds of live in the children that I raise

Counting our blessings when we bow our heads to pray

Bridge

Life isn’t easy but I’m not the quittin’ kind

The Good Lord has a plan and stronger hands than mine
