Just Above The Water

JUST ABOVE THE WATER

I saw him by the river

Cardboard box beneath the bridge

Somehow he was smiling

When my eyes met his

He said it’s not a lot to look at

But it keeps my head

Just above the water

Chorus

Just above the water I feel him holding me

Just above the water he always meets my needs

When life takes me down

His love lifts me up

So I will not drown

His grace is enough

To keep my head

Just above the water

We are all sons and daughters

Dirt dust and water

Runs through our veins

More sinner than saint

Life is like that river

That flows through every man

Sometimes the undertow

Is more than he can stand

But faith can be a lifeline

And hope is in God’s hand

Just above the water

Chorus

Just above the water I feel him holding me

Just above the water he always meets my needs

When sin takes me down

His love lifts me up

So I will not drown

His grace is enough

To keep my head

Just above the water
