Music In The Mountains
@Rick Lang/Troy Engle
V1
Daddy’s on the front porch, banjo in his hands
Playing a tune his granddad use to sing
That old familiar sound makes ‘em gather round
And dance while that old banjo rings
Chorus
There’s music in the mountains flowing like a fountain
Ringing in the valley down below
So gather all around to hear that sweet sound
That lifts you up and soothes your weary soul
V2
Those mountain melodies speak to you and me
Like it did to our kin folk way back then
All the hard times they saw didn’t bother them at all
Mountain music made them smile again
V3
When you’re laying there at night, stars shining bright
Trees are still humming a tune
Comes from those hills, know it always will
Like the light of that old Kentucky moon
